Travel to Cornwall By Road

The ancient town of Fowey is situated on the south coast of Cornwall. Local roads have improved greatly in recent years and access to the rest of England is easily managed by the A30, that provides almost 100% dual carriageway from Bodmin to the M5 at Exeter.

On entering Fowey continue of to the main road leading into the town. The road will bear to the right (signposted Fowey Hall Hotel and Restaurant). DO NOT take this road but indicate left and take the road down into the town, then take the next right signposted Fowey Hotel.

Continue along this road for approximately 200 yards when the road will bear to the right. On the bend take the driveway on the left signposted The Fowey Hotel Reception. Pull up to the entrance of the hotel unless you see your reserved parking space.

Wales & West Passenger Trains run direct services into Cornwall via Bristol, from Manchester, Birmingham, Bath, Swindon, Portsmouth and Cardiff. Wales & West also offer many scenic rides within Cornwall. These include the picturesque Tamar and Looe Valley lines, and Truro, St Ives, Newquay and Falmouth are also easily accessible by train. Air South West, the South West's own low fare airline, flies to Newquay Cornwall Airport from Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, Leeds-Bradford, Manchester and London Gatwick (for worldwide connections). PLEASE NOTE: An airport development fee of £5 per departing passenger was introduced from October 2005 to help secure the future of Newquay Cornwall Airport. This follows similar initiatives taken by other airports around the world, including Knock and Kerry airports in Ireland. For ease of administration the Airport Development Fee will be collected at the airport. Children under the age of sixteen will be exempt.
