  • The Fowey Hotel has one of the most stunning locations on the mild south Cornish coast – perched on a hillside and overlooking the historic town of Fowey, the River Fowey, and out to the sea.

    We are a short stroll into town and keen walkers will find that we are within easy distance of joining the South West Coast Path, which you can explore at your leisure.

  • History

    Established in 1882, The Fowey Hotel was purpose-built to be a hotel, as the railways expanded into Cornwall. Over the years it has welcomed many famous and notable guests, who considered the hotel to be a second home.

    Original Minutes from the hotel’s regular board meetings are on display in the hotel and references to purchasing hay for the hotel’s carriage horses can be clearly seen!

  • Local Area

    Fowey is tucked away on the picturesque south coast of Cornwall, which enjoys milder weather than most of the UK. The River Fowey is one of the deepest rivers in the world and is often visited by large cruise ships, including The World, together with large sailing vessels.

    There are a number of festivals held in and around Fowey during the year, including Fowey Regatta and the Daphne Du Maurier Festival, a key arts and literature festival held to celebrate this wonderful local authoress.
