Holiday Season is well and truly here!
Holiday over and home to yet more sunshine!!!
It’s taken a few days to catch up after my week away in Egypt, but as always Candace and the team have kept the hotel running beautifully. In fact, I have recently read three very complimentary letters since I have returned – I should go away more often…..
You may be please to read that I have not been sold for 3 Camels, oddly whilst we were in Egypt we never actually saw one camel! They must be nearer Cairo I guess. My week over in Hargarda was truly amazing; I swam on a few days in the Red Sea and snorkelled in some of the most beautiful waters I have ever seen. At some points I felt as though I had shrunk down and was actually swimming in a tropical fish tank, seeing clown fish (or “Nemo” as my younger cousin Leah called them), Sea cucumbers and rainbow fish as well as many others.
One day a few of us made the very long trip to Luxor where we visited the Valley of the Kings, The Karnack Temple and also took a wonderful boat trip along the Nile (where a few of us dipped our very hot feet in an attempt to cool down). I can safely say that the hottest part of my holiday was whilst visiting the Valley of the Kings (or comically named by myself as “Death Valley”) at one point the temperature hit a staggering 48 degrees and we felt quite literally as though we were about to melt!!! It was of course well worth it and added to the whole atmosphere of the day. I definitely plan to return to Egypt one day and will be sure to factor in a trip to Cairo to see the Pyramids and those illusive camels….
As well as the 3 complimentary letters I also returned to yet more good news. This being that our application for the civil wedding licence has now been approved so it is all systems go to promote winter and day weddings and receptions over the quieter times of the year. We now have three rooms that are licensed; The Restaurant, The Piano Room (adjacent to the Bar) and Room 109 (The Ready Money Suite). Within the next few weeks we will have an additional ‘mini site’ on this website offering all the additional wedding type services that are now available.
The Tea Garden is now open (currently at weekends) throughout the summer months, as always this is dependant on the weather but if you are in the area do allow yourself an hour to relax and indulge on a homemade scone or two….
