Beaches around Fowey

Readymoney Cove

A sandy beach with swimming platform located in Fowey at the mouth of the river. Ice cream van present Easter – October!

Polkerris Beach

West of Fowey between Fowey and Par. Has car park but charges apply in season. Shop, café and pub are in the small village.

Polridmouth Cove

Nearest car park is 15 minutes walk through farmland, offering fantastic views on the cliff walk past the Gribben Head.

The Eden Project

“Two gigantic Biomes housed in a 50 metre deep former china clay pit, with stunning architecture and a breathtaking plant collection that has been dubbed the eighth wonder of the world”!

Open all year round, 10 – 6pm in summer, 10 – 4pm in winter with additional special opening hours for seasonal events.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

“Lost for 75 years under bramble and ivy, Heligan is now Europe’s largest garden restoration project”.

Gardens are open March – October from 10 – 6pm, from 10 – 5pm between November – February (excl. Christmas Day and Boxing Day). There is also a delicious farm shop on site.

Pine Lodge Gardens

These beautiful gardens in St Austell are a real gem and still largely undiscovered. Wonderful display of Japanese planting, a plant nursery and tea shop are on site.

Llanhydrock House, Bodmin

Llanhydrock House is one of The National Trust’s most visited properties, dating from the 17th Century (though largely rebuilt after a fire in 1881). It is set in 900 acres of magnificent woods and parkland. The house is open from March – October between 11 – 5.30pm (closed Mondays) and the gardens are open all year from 10 – 6pm. There is a café and shop on site.
